It’s now been almost 2 months since the day that we moved into our apartment. While we are still living out of the boxes and store most of our stuff on the floor I’ve managed to implement some small accessories into our home. Accessories that make this place feel more like a home and most importantly – the home that I’ve always wanted.
Now you might be thinking that why haven’t we still bought any furniture so here’s why. As most of you probably know our home came without a kitchen and at this time our main focus is obviously the kitchen. We have had a specific idea in mind on what we want our kitchen to look like and that’s why it takes some planning etc. Many people have suggested that we buy something temporary for the time being but it’s not something we want to do here. It feels like a waste of money to buy something just for the sake of it when we would throw it out as soon as possible.
So while this furniture process is taking us some time I wanted to show you some of my favorite home accessories that we have at the moment. These are all items that I absolutely LOVE and I feel like they are very “me”. They make our home feel a little bit luxurious which obviously is never a bad thing haha.
I think this blanket was one of the first things I bought for our apartment. It’s from H&M Home and easily one of my favorite things I’ve ever bought from there. Something about this color and print makes is feel more expensive than it was haha. Therefore I advise you to look more into different patterns and colors the next time you buy a blanket. Sure the really fluffy colorful blanket on sale can look attempting but when it doesn’t go with your rooms asthetics then it actually doesn’t do any good for the room.
On the other hand – when you find something that goes together with other items in the room then a simple blanket can have a whole other effect.

Let me start by saying that I have never been a plant person. I just cannot keep them alive even when my life depended on it. But I still think that some flowers or even cactuses can really transform a room. At the moment I only have this really tiny cactus on the windowsill but it’s still cute and I think that once it has it’s own place on a self somewhere it would add that something extra to the room. Another type of plant or flowers to be more spesific is dried flowers. I have this bunch that my sister gifted me as part of the housewarming gift and now I just want more!
I feel like dried flowers somehow feel luxurious in their own way. They give me that vintage vibe which – done right – can transform a blank room into a really cozy and classy one. On the top of my bucket list is dried pampas grass but I feel like this would be a good purchase once our living room has at least some kind of furniture haha.

It’s a new world for me but so far I’m loving this world! We bought our first ever room diffuser right after moving in and we chose Joik Lumiere du soleil for our bathroom. It worked so wonderfully that I knew I wanted more! So yesterday I bought another diffuser and set in up in our bedroom. This time I chose the Cherie one and boyyy I cannot tell you how good it smells! Honestly it smells like luxury to me and therefore gives our bedroom such a good vibe. A room that I don’t want to leave! Definitely highly recommend Joik diffusers when you are looking for a strong scented diffuser for your home. I have previously tried their candles too but diffusers are so much more my vibe now. And they are so easy, too!
One diffuser costs 24,99€ and should last for 3-4 months. Considering the great smell and the fact that you can always come to a lovely smelling home, it’s definitely worth the money!

High quality speaker
Something that can also create a nice atmosphere at home is music. It’s something that has always been important to us and especially for me because I cannot stay at home without always listening to music. Just recently we finally purchased our first bluetooth speaker and we chose the Sonos One Gen 2. We wanted something that would sound good and look good and Sonos won us over with its sleek design. This speaker had been in my wishlist for a while actually. I am always really stubborn in that sense. When I decide that I want something then I won’t settle for anything less and that’s why I had to have this particular speaker.
230€ doesn’t make the Sonos speaker the most expensive one on the market but there are definitely more affordable ones that you can buy. But then again – this speaker sounds SO GOOD that I can’t imagine buying something that doesn’t have that vibrant and dynamic sound. Another cool feature is voice activation which you can use with Amazon Alexa or Google Home.
